What you can expect
Being able to enjoy sound, uninterrupted rest at The Forest Lodge.
This truly delightful and wholly exclusive sanctuary, strategically set in the forest, epitomises home-away-from-home comfort combined with the utmost privacy. Each forest lodge boasts a fully equipped kitchen, lounge, wall-to-wall veranda, lazy hammock, private braai (barbeque) facility and outside seating.
With that in mind, we can promise you that your stay will be wholesome, therapeutic and stress-free.
The only noise you’ll hear is that of silence and the sounds of fallow deer from a distance - the effects of which will lull you to sleep as you lay in bed at night.
Fun and relaxation. Bella Manga is the quintessential retreat where hikers can embark on the numerous trails on the property, fishermen cast off at the dam, and leisure-seekers can relax in nature. Spy bush pig or lynx on a night safari and perhaps even a leopard from the tempting futon on your verandah.
Get acquainted with Warrior and Tigre - the establishment's much-loved pets. Once they like and trust you, ready yourself for a friendly attack of sloppy kisses and playful bites.
Uncover the mysteries that the Garden Route beholds
Plettenberg Bay is a melting pot of activities. You won’t get bored exploring and adventuring all the while being charmed by the town’s enchanting character.
Learn interesting facts about elephants at The Elephant Sanctuary on educational tours. Also includes close interactions with the beautiful mammals.
Visit Monkeyland - the world’s only multi-species, free-roaming primate sanctuary. It’s home to primates from around the globe who were bred in captivity in poor and abusive conditions.
A haven for hiking. The Otter and Dolphin Trails are nearby and are more for the dedicated and serious walkers. The route takes days to complete and covers several kilometres, so taking small kids along is ill-advised. Otherwise, the Robberg hike is easier, just as scenic and family-friendly. Be warned, though, this isn’t just an activity you embark on spontaneously, it is a full-day event so plan accordingly.
Game spotting. Visitors can spot various wildlife from a close range at the Plettenberg Bay Nature Reserve. Book a drive with a dedicated game ranger and be on the lookout for rhino, leopard, giraffe, zebra and 60 identified bird species.
