How would we describe Wait ʼn Sea Guest House? Understated, very convenient and beautifully positioned for the perfect Cape holiday.
Take advantage of this great location and explore the Winelands, Helderberg and even the Overberg!

Where would we go? Stellenbosch is the perfect adventure, from prestigious wine estates, family markets, to student pubs and bars. Walk along the beautiful oak tree-lined Victoria Street, visit the botanical gardens, pop in at art galleries if art interests you, and take your pick of excellent restaurants and pavement cafés. For delicious jam, preserves, and cheese, visit Hillcrest Berry Farm just outside Stellenbosch in Banhoek Valley. Their scones come highly recommended.
Somerset West is a modern, vibrant and somewhat busy town. It’s a popular destination for young couples and families. Visit Mooiberge Farm, between Stellenbosch and Somerset West. Mooiberge sells a lovely selection of fruit and vegetables, as well as jams, preserves and products. Plus there’s some interesting photo opportunities for Insta too! Visit the Lourensford Market for a great vibe, amazing food and interesting hand-crafted items. If you prefer the quiet of being in nature away from crowds, Helderberg Nature Reserve is a lovely area for nature walks.
Strand and Gordon’s Bay both have an exciting holiday atmosphere. They’re both popular with holidaymakers, especially those with kids. The water is SLIGHTLY warmer than the beaches in Cape Town, and there’s a fun waterpark for kids to enjoy. Parked along the road you’ll find traditional ice-cream vendors selling cones, there’s also fish and chips shops where some of the best seafood can be found!
From Gordon’s Bay you have two options. You can drive Sir Lowry’s Pass to Grabouw where the famous Peregrine’s Farmstall is, then onward to Bot River eventually arriving in Hermanus. If you prefer you can drive the R44 from Gordon’s Bay and visit Rooi Els, Pringle Bay, Betty’s Bay and Kleinmond. The scenery along the R44 pass is stunning and is a popular whale spotting route.
No matter in which direction you drive, there’s something lovely to see and do!
