The birth of Marco's Italian Restaurant
Marco Conte hadn't the faintest idea where life would take him after college, let alone the idea of owning his very own restaurant one day.
His inherent Italian charm, Durban style and adventurous soul combined with his Italian mother's wonderful cooking ability, helped create Marco's Ristorante in 1999.
Having relished Mamma's delicious authentic Italian cuisine at home, Marco saw this as the perfect opportunity to nurture his Italian culture by providing a platform for guests to enjoy the ceremony of food and socialising in a fashion that is truly Italian.
Whilst Mamma, who hails from Modena, Italy, works her magic in the kitchen, Marco captivates guests in a way that only Italians know how, and together they revel in the enjoyment of their delighted patrons.
The atmosphere is friendly and charming, and there is no shortage of European romance in the air.
