Make sure you include a few of these activities during your stay:
A trip to Muizenberg Beach. Just a few minutes drive from your accommodation, Muizenberg Beach is a much loved Cape Town classic. The long stretch of sand is a favourite for surfers, and is home to a wide selection of cafes and restaurants. If surfing isn’t your thing, come for a walk on the beach or to enjoy the laid back vibes of the neighbourhood.
A visit to Silvermine Nature Reserve. Silvermine is home to a variety of hiking trails from which you can see incredible views of the Constantia valley and beyond. We love the hike to Elephant’s Eye cave, where you can see incredible views of the valley, but there is a selection of trails varying in difficulty. If walking isn’t your thing, why not pack your swimsuit and enjoy a swim in the Silvermine Dam?
Wake up early and head to Kalk Bay. This quirky area is full of break breakfast spots and cafes. Kalf Bay is a great spot to watch the sunrise. If you’re feeling particularly brave, there’s a selection of tidal pools for a quick dip before brekkie!
Say hi to the penguins. A little further afield, Simon’s Town is another quaint spot you won’t want to miss. The 30 minute drive is all along the coast, offering perfect views of False Bay. Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town is the only place on earth where you can get up close and personal with a natural colony of African penguins. Remember that you have to pay to get in, so don’t forget to bring some cash.
