7. Ama Poot-Poot

Explore the Ama Poot Poot Hiking Trail in Dullstroom and hike through the Uitvlugt property.

With two trail options available, you’ll have your pick between the moderate 13 km Yellow Trail and the easy 6 km Red Trail.
If you choose the Yellow Trail, early signs and clarity after the river crossing could be clearer, so be cautious.
As you ascend the mountain, spectacular views will reveal themselves to you.

Once you reach the waterfall base, cross the river for a hidden pool oasis. Trail’s end is unclear, but follow signs back.
The easy 6km Red Trail passes trout dams, fields, and Ama Poot Poot Waterfall. Enjoy a dip, lunch, and loop back, connecting with the Yellow Trail.

Nature, including antelope, fox, and tranquillity, surprises you along the way. Be sure to bring water, snacks, a hat and sunscreen. The sun might not be your friend during the hike.
