Where to stay in Johannesburg

Hotels in Johannesburg can accommodate all kinds of visitors, whether you’re on a family vacation with the kids, looking for a luxury resort, traveling on a tight budget, or a romantic getaway. See below where we also cover romantic things to do in Johannesburg.

Another thing that works in your favour as a traveler is the cost of accommodation in Johannesburg. As the largest city in the country, it is filled with great hotels that are reasonably priced.

Johannesburg’s top attractions are all located in the CBD, including Constitution Hill and the Apartheid Museum, but there are still only a few lodging alternatives there, most of which are budget hotels.

The northern suburbs, where there is a concentration of hotels and guesthouses for all budgets, are where most tourists stay. Rosebank, Sandton, Melrose, and Houghton are the best neighborhoods to look for lodging out of all the ones that make up these suburbs. While the CBD is home to many cultural attractions, you won’t need to go there to dine because each of the suburbs has a wide variety of eateries.

Getting around Jozi is never an issue! Making use of public transport can be a bit of a challenge for some, especially if you are unfamiliar with the system but you are not limited. The Gautrain, Uber, and public transport are at your disposal at all times.

Whether you are looking for a luxury stay or something budget-friendly, Johannesburg has something for everyone!
