NIKKEI
Japanese-Peruvian cuisine is currently having more than a moment in Cape Town… Nikkei is the name of this fascinating fusion, born in the 19th century from trade connections between the two countries. And it’s also the name of an exciting new restaurant on Bree (where Gate 69 used to be). A sibling to the bang-on-brand Scala, Burger & Lobster, Iron Steak and Hacienda (all Bree Street hotspots), the group’s executive chef Justin Barker has worked with the culinary consultation of chef Rikku O’Donnchu to create a fresh and exciting menu. It’s definitely one to watch.
