Like champagne, tequila is an AOC (Area of Controlled Origin)-certified beverage, meaning that it’s only tequila if it’s from Mexico’s Jalisco, Guanajuato, Michoacan, Nayarit or Tamaulipas regions.

There is no right or wrong way to taste tequila, making it the ideal experience for amateurs and aficionados alike. Tequila tastings are also a great choice for entertaining large groups and hosting memorable celebrations.

Made by distilling the Blue Weber agave plant, there are 2 primary types of tequila: 100% agave tequilas, and Mixtos tequilas with 51% or more agave sugars. Tequilas can also be classified according to their aging process. The longer a tequila has been aged, the smoother its taste, and the best tequilas are barrel aged for at least 3 years before being redistilled with a charcoal filter.
