About Eland Valley Resort

Eland Valley Resort, located in the scenic Southern Drakensberg in the Underberg area, is situated at the foot of the majestic Garden Castle. The 150-hectare resort is bordered by the Mzimkhulwana Nature Reserve (KZN Parks Board) and the Mlambonjwa River (a tributary of the Umzimkulu River).

This family-friendly Berg resort offers 14 modern self-catering log chalets in park-like surroundings. Eland Valley is the ideal getaway for families, fishermen and nature lovers.

There are scenic walks and hikes for both amateur and serious adventurers. Enjoy the many picnic and tubing spots along the sparkling river. Wildlife (eland, reedbok), guinea-fowl, wild duck and other birds abound in the resort. A golf course, convenience store and restaurants are available nearby.

Rustic log chalets

Each two-bedroomed chalet accommodates up to six people (adults and children). They also have 1-bedroom chalets for couples. Choose to book a stay for you and your partner or bring your family or friends. 

Each chalet includes

  • A TV for cosy nights in
  • A cleaner who comes in daily.

Guests need only bring towels, toiletries and soap, food and beverages. There are braai areas available for use and a gas cylinder can be hired for a gas heater to make your stay even cosier!
